Our Lady of the Woods is pleased to offer a four week series, Wicca 101, to seekers interested in the Wiccan path encompassing Northern New Mexico from Taos to Albuquerque.  The class is free to the public and will be held on Wednesday nights in March from seven to nine PM via Zoom.

Our Lady of the Woods is a coven and congregation of the Wiccan religion, which is one of the nature-oriented spiritual traditions of ancient Europe. We are based in the Los Alamos/Santa Fe area, and incorporated as a church in the State of New Mexico. We have been meeting in the Los Alamos area for more than twenty five years.  Teaching Wicca is a key part of our mission.

Here is a brief outline of the subjects we plan to cover.

March 3, 2021: Basics of Wicca, Learning agreements/ground rules, Introductions – why are you here?, What are paganism, Wicca, witchcraft, Where does OLW fit on the spectrum, What is a witch, a Priest/Priestess, etc. and expectations of these roles

March 10, 2021: History: A general history of Wicca and the story of Our Lady of the Woods Tradition

March 17, 2021: Wheel of the Year, Holidays: Sabbats, Esbats, Cycles in life as they relate to cycles of the year and month, Daily practice

March 24, 2021: What is Magic?, Importance of the will and mind, Focus, Ethics,Solitary versus group (why join with others in a coven?)
